The RSU #4 GT Program serves students in grades K-12 who excel, or have the potential to excel, beyond their age peers in a regular school program, and who can benefit from services offered by the GT Program. As defined in Chapter 104, these students must have demonstrated exceptional ability, aptitude, skill, or creativity in one or more of the following categories: general intellectual ability, specific academic aptitude, and/or visual and performing arts.
Instruction for GT students at RSU 4 takes on many forms, being delivered in and out of the regular classroom setting using various instructional strategies. The program utilizes the services of a variety of district personnel, specialists, and classroom teachers in addition to the GT teacher/consultant.
