This fall, the School Board directed the Superintendent to investigate the closing of Sabattus Primary School. This directive was in response to the recommendation by the Board's Finance and Facilities' Consolidation Subcommittee. The recommendation by the Subcommittee was to close both Sabattus Primary School and Libby-Tozier School. Closing Sabattus Primary School is the first phase. If both the Board and the three communities approve to close Sabattus Primary, Libby-Tozier will house (Grades kindergarten and first) and Carrie Ricker will house (Grades PreK, second, third and fourth).
The Board will be voting on the closure of Sabattus Primary School during the Regular School Board meeting on January 8th. If approved by the Board, the three communities will then vote on the closure of SPS in a special referendum on April 8th.
